Staying Active in Kenmore: Local Walks and Green Spaces We Love
One of the best things about living in Kenmore is how easy it is to get moving without leaving the western suburbs. As chiropractors, we spend a lot of time talking with patients about the value of regular, gentle activity for backs, necks and general wellbeing, and we're lucky that some of Brisbane's best walking spots are right on our doorstep.
Here are a few local favourites our team and patients often mention.
What to Expect at Your First Chiropractic Appointment
Our Kenmore clinic at 1/2105 Moggill Rd cares for individuals and families from across Brisbane's western suburbs, including Chapel Hill, Brookfield, Pullenvale, Bellbowrie and Moggill. If you've been putting off getting something checked, we'd love to meet you.
Headaches That Start in Your Neck: Understanding Cervicogenic Headaches
Not all headaches begin in your head. Some start lower down, in the joints, muscles and nerves of the upper neck, and are felt as pain in the head. These are called cervicogenic headaches, and they're a type we commonly assess at our Kenmore clinic.
If you've noticed your headaches seem connected to your neck, this article is for you.
Waking Up With Lower Back Pain? Common Causes and What You Can Do
If your alarm goes off and the first thing you notice is a stiff, aching lower back, you're in good company. Morning back pain is one of the most common things we hear about at our Kenmore clinic, and for many people it's the reason they finally decide to get their back looked at.
The good news is that morning back pain often has straightforward contributing factors, and there's plenty you can do about it.
Woke Up With a Stiff, Twisted Neck? Understanding Acute Torticollis (Wry Neck)
Torticollis comes from the Latin for "twisted neck". Acute torticollis is a sudden onset of neck pain and stiffness, often with the head held tilted or rotated to one side because moving it the other way is too painful. The muscles on one side of the neck go into a protective spasm, which is what creates that locked feeling.
It tends to appear overnight or come on quickly during the day, sometimes after an awkward movement, and sometimes with no obvious trigger at all.
